Prepare to immerse yourself in the exhilarating action of this swift, frenetic, and highly entertaining arcade-style shoot ’em up!

23 years following its debut, the renowned indie shoot ’em up, “Platypus,” is making a comeback, even more impressive than before! The original creator, Anthiny Flack, is spearheading this project along with the skillful Claymatic team. Unlike a typical remaster, Platypus Reloaded undergoes a comprehensive overhaul. Entirely rewritten and optimized for contemporary technology, Platypus Reloaded is constructed anew with all-new models and artwork captured in 4k high definition, boasting updated gameplay, new weapons, and supplementary content.

Haven’t Heard of Platypus? Here’s a Primer

In 2002, before online platforms like Xbox Live Arcade or Kongregate were established, the unique game known as Platypus was introduced for the first time. Remarkably, this game has continued to maintain an engaged community of players who regularly create mods and fan art even today. Distinguished by its distinctive clay-animated visual style, smooth controls, and meticulous game design, Platypus was among the pioneering indie games developed by a solo creator that achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success.

So What’s New?

Platypus Remastered enhances every aspect that made the original Platypus popular, tailored for today’s gamers. The clay sculpture now appears in stunning high definition, a fresh stage has been incorporated, levels from the original have been reworked for unexpected twists, there are more enemies and weapons, new adjustable difficulty settings have been included, the soundtrack features improved high-quality remixes, and new game modes like Practice and the challenging single-life mode Score Attack are available. Moreover, the game supports drop-in two-player co-op play! Furthermore, Platypus Remastered was created with modders in mind, and our community is eager to develop their own Platypus experiences!

In contrast to the trend in the gaming industry moving towards intricate, feature-heavy, lengthy games, our goal was to offer a simple one-button shoot ’em up that’s enjoyable right from the start,” shared lead game designer Anthony Flack. “With no need for memorizing complex combos or enduring a detailed tutorial before the fun begins, you jump straight into the action. _Platypus Reclaimed_ is designed to be a quick, enjoyable break during your down time – whether it’s a 20-minute wind-down before bed or a short break at lunchtime, every moment spent playing it will bring delight!
