Lots of Pokémon games have been released for the Nintendo Switch lately, including Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, which became available earlier today.
For those newer to the world of Pokémon, the very first games, Pokémon Red and Green, were set in a region called Kanto. Players take on the challenge of becoming the best trainer by collecting badges from gym leaders and completing their Pokedex – a collection of all 151 Pokémon hidden throughout the game.
These new releases are updated versions of remakes originally created in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance. They’re available to download digitally on the Switch (and will also work on the upcoming Switch 2). Support for Pokémon Home will be added soon, allowing you to transfer Pokémon you’ve collected in games like Legends Z-A to these new titles, or even send them to Pokémon Champions if you prefer.
If you enjoy Pokémon games, you’ll want to take a look at these. They’re fun to play, even beyond the nostalgia factor! You can watch the reveal trailer below if you’d like a sneak peek.
