A new Pokémon game, *Pokémon Legends: Z-A*, is almost here after a long wait! It’s not a traditional main series game, but it’s more than just a side story – and many fans are incredibly excited about it, especially after *Pokémon Scarlet and Violet*. It’s launching on October 16th for both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has just announced the official release times worldwide, so you can mark your calendars and get ready to play!
Get ready to return to Kalos and Lumiose City! You can now pre-load *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* from the Nintendo eShop. The exact release time will depend on your time zone, but it will likely be midnight local time, following Nintendo’s usual release schedule. However, for players in North America, the release time will vary based on your specific location, even though Nintendo treats the region as one zone.

You can download *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* before it officially releases by pre-ordering it. After pre-ordering, a pre-load option will appear on your Nintendo Switch or Switch 2 home screen, letting you install the game files in advance. The download size is 4.0 GB on Nintendo Switch and 7.7 GB on Switch 2.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be released on both the Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2. The standard Switch version costs $59.99, while the Switch 2 version is priced at $69.99. If you buy the game for Switch and later upgrade to a Switch 2, you can upgrade the game for an additional $10. A bundle including the Switch 2 console and Pokemon Legends: Z-A is available for $499.99.
Besides the main game, you can also buy the *Mega Dimension* DLC. However, most of the new story content won’t be available until February 28th. This DLC, which has received some criticism for being released early, adds Mega Evolutions for Raichu and a new story featuring Hoopa.
