Although sales in Europe and compared to previous Pokémon games like Arceus and Scarlet/Violet are down, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is performing very well in the United States. According to Circana’s Mat Piscatella, it’s the best-selling physical video game in the US, by both units and revenue, since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
It’s quite an accomplishment for Pokémon Legends: Z-A to be selling so well, especially since it came out in May 2023 on the Nintendo Switch, a console with a much larger user base than the platform where it’s currently succeeding. What’s even more noteworthy is that these US sales figures don’t include any purchases made through the special console bundles that boosted sales in Europe.
