Update [Fri 17th Apr 2026, 1:30pm]:
Networkgo, the company behind the game Pickmos, has pulled its popular but controversial title from Steam. They described their action as an ‘intervention’ and announced it on social media.
Hi everyone, this is Networkgo, the publisher of PocketGame. We’ve been listening to your concerns about our Steam page being taken down and want to explain what’s happening. Networkgo is now actively involved in the development of PocketGame. We’ll be working closely with the Pickmos team, focusing on what players want, to help make the game even better. Thanks for all your support!
The company clarified in later tweets that it aims to provide a smooth and trouble-free experience for Pickmos users. They also stated they are looking into artwork that was clearly copied from other games.
PocketGame is back on social media after briefly disappearing. This return comes after they released a game, Pickmon, that was heavily criticized for being too similar to Pokémon and Palworld. Now, they’ve rebranded the game as Pickmos.
Yes, that is indeed a single letter change: Pickmon has become Pickmos.
The team recently updated the game’s name to better reflect its overall story and style, according to their social media page. They explain that the new name, incorporating “mos,” will symbolize a vast and immersive world—a whole universe, even. They believe this name is stronger and more fitting for the epic adventure they’re creating.
After the explanation, the studio is still facing strong criticism from Pokémon fans who have noticed that some of its monster designs are very similar to existing Pokémon, like the Charizard-like creature shown in the image. It’s currently unclear if Nintendo or Game Freak have reached out to PocketGame about these designs.
@merondepancito expressed strong disapproval, stating that a simple name change doesn’t address the core issues. They accused the developers of blatant copying from games like Pokémon and Palworld, and the character Link from Zelda, adding that one of the designs appears to have been taken from another artist without permission.
PocketGame said they’re reaching out to the game’s art director about the claims that were made.
