Pokemon Pokopia details DJ Rotom, Chef Dente, and multiplayer mode

To celebrate Pokémon Day 2026, The Pokémon Company, along with game developers Game Freak and Koei Tecmo, have shared a new trailer and images for their upcoming life simulation game, Pokémon Pokopia.

Here are the latest details (as transcribed from today’s trailer):

Rotom (Stereo Rotom)

That strange stereo – could it be a Rotom? It looks like it was drawn in by the music and made the stereo its home! It’s full of energy and everyone calls it DJ Rotom.

If you play a music CD in the game, it will add some fun tunes to town! Even Ditto and the other Pokémon will start dancing to the music. Let me introduce you to the world of Pokémon Pokopia while we listen to DJ Rotom’s awesome playlist.

Wasteland

Ditto first encounters Professor Tangrowth in a wasteland that was once a town.

It seems like Ditto is working alongside other Pokemon to develop the town.

Wow, they’re sure fired up!

Of course, you can’t give your all on an empty stomach.

It looks like Riolu wants something to eat, too. But how do you cook?

Greedent (Cook)

Huh? That silhouette… A Greedent appeared. It sounds like everyone calls it Chef Dente!

Chef Dente is here to help you learn a variety of recipes! Every Pokémon likes different foods, and some meals can even boost your battle moves. This makes improving the town a lot simpler.

Four-Player Multiplayer Mode

Try bringing Pokemon you’ve befriended on an outing!

In multiplayer mode, you can visit other players towns. You can play with up to three other people.

Let’s play hide and seek! I’m looking for everyone… Oh, there you are! And someone’s over here too! Now, where’s the last person? Wow, you can turn into objects as well! That was a really fun game!

By working together, you could even build something this big.

You can build a town together or embark on exciting adventures, and new experiences are always possible. The world expands daily, growing with each step you take in developing your town.

Pokemon Pokopia is due out for Switch 2 on March 5, 2026.
