Recently, The Pokémon Company showed fans what’s coming in the special 30th Celebration collection for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This set, launching globally on September 16th, introduces a brand new type of card rarity called Futuristic Rare. While the first preview suggested a great collection, fans today got an even better look with the reveal of two new Futuristic Rares and several full-art cards. It seems this set is shaping up to be fantastic!
The Pokémon Company recently showed off more card designs for the Japanese version of the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration set, as reported by Poke Beach. While we haven’t seen English versions of the cards yet, the worldwide release gives us a good look at what to expect – including some amazing futuristic Pikachu rares and beautiful full-art cards featuring Espeon and Umbreon. As a big Eevee fan, I’m even more excited about this set, but also worried about how expensive they might become due to scalpers.
New Pikachu Promos & Eeveelution Full Arts Unveiled for 30th Celebration

Today, new cards were shown off from the upcoming 30th Anniversary Futuristic Box, which will be released in Japan on September 16th. We likely will receive a similar English version of the product, as the set is being released globally at the same time. The set includes cool accessories like Umbreon and Espeon coins and a playmat, and we also got a preview of some of the new cards!
The set will feature two special, new ‘Futuristic Rare’ Pikachu cards, as shown in the images. These cards introduce a new rarity level to the Pokémon Trading Card Game, debuting with the 30th Celebration collection. Both cards are Pikachu ex, and share a light and dark design similar to the previously revealed Mew and Mewtwo cards. While they look fantastic, having 30 different Pikachu promotional cards and these new Pikachu ex Futuristic Rares in one collection feels a bit unusual.
Alongside the new Pikachu ex cards, we previewed beautiful full-art versions of Umbreon ex and Espeon ex. These two Pokémon are the focus of a special “Futuristic Box,” so it’s no surprise they’re featured prominently. The cards show each Pokémon overlooking a city with an Eevee, a sweet reference to their origins. They also include the number 30 in the sky, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Unfortunately, these cards are likely to be very expensive on the secondary market.

In addition to the full art card reveals, we also got a preview of some of the regular cards coming in the 30th Celebration set. This includes new designs for Umbreon and Espeon ex, as well as cards featuring Pokémon like Zorua and Eevee. You can find a complete list of all the revealed cards on Poke Beach.
I’m really excited about this new set! It looks like it’s going to be a great addition to the Pokémon TCG, and with the Umbreon and Espeon focus, it’s giving me major Prismatic Evolution vibes – I’m hoping it lives up to that! I’m definitely planning to try and get my hands on the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration set when it comes out on September 16th.
