Channel 5 has released a sneak peek at its upcoming series, ‘The Fortune,’ which stars Eleanor Tomlinson and Matthew Lewis.
The show, currently without a confirmed release date, is described as a suspenseful drama focusing on family relationships and long-held secrets.
Okay, so I just heard about this new show, and it stars Aidan Turner – you know, Ross Poldark? – as a woman named Amanda Blakefield. Apparently, she’s totally shocked to find out she’s inherited a huge fortune from a complete stranger, someone she’s never even heard of! Sounds like a good setup for a mystery, right?
When Amanda gets involved with the enigmatic Worrall family, she quickly finds herself uncovering secrets from their past, which dramatically changes everyone’s lives.

Harry Potter‘s Lewis plays Amanda’s husband, Jimmy, in this film. Newcomer James Younger stars as their son, Luke, and Denis Lawson, known from New Tricks, plays Martin Worrall, the head of the Worrall family.

Rebecca Front, known for her role in “The Thick of It,” plays Martin’s wife, Fiona, and Callum Woodhouse, from “All Creatures Great and Small,” plays his son, Anthony.
Joining the cast are Stephen Tompkinson, known for his role as DCI Banks, who will play farm worker Boots Maddison. Paula Wilcox (from the show Trying) will portray Amanda’s mother, Linda. Danielle Walters (Chewing Gum) will play Amanda’s best friend, Sandy, and Nina Wadia (EastEnders) will appear as solicitor Laura.

Aschlin Ditta wrote this, and she previously wrote the 2023 drama The Inheritance, which featured Robert James-Collier and Larry Lamb.
Andy de Emmony is directing, and he’s previously worked on popular shows like Vigil, The Nest, and The Larkins.

I’ve been following actress Charlotte Tomlinson for a while now – you might recognize her from things like The Outlaws or One Day. She was fantastic in The Forsytes last year, a really interesting take on the classic story, where she played Louisa Byrne. It’s one of those good, solid dramas I really enjoyed.
Last year, Lewis starred as Canon Daniel Clement in the TV series Murder Before Evensong, based on Richard Coles’s novel. It first appeared on Acorn TV and later aired on Channel 5.
