This May, PlayStation Plus Essential members can claim three free games for both PS5 and PS4. So far in 2026, the basic PS Plus subscription has offered some great titles, and this month’s selection is another good one, although there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

EA Sports FC 26 is the biggest game launching with PlayStation Plus. As the yearly football simulation – previously called FIFA – it’s consistently a best-seller, so many subscribers likely already have it.

Sports games often spark debate. Generally, if you don’t enjoy the sport itself, you probably won’t be interested in the video game version either.

Overall, FC 26 is a pretty good game. If your favorite team isn’t doing well, escaping into career mode and trying to turn things around can be a fun distraction.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a Chinese action game inspired by the Souls series. When it first came out last year, reviews weren’t very positive, but the game has seen improvements through updates, and it now offers some enjoyable combat.

Finally, we have Nine Sols, the best-rated game we’re offering! This action-packed Metroidvania is surprisingly intense and stands out as one of the best in the genre on PlayStation, with excellent gameplay and an engaging story.
