With fans eagerly anticipating season 4, the Prime Video action series is back in the top 10 most-watched shows on the platform. Based on the novels by Lee Child, the popular show first launched in 2022 and quickly became one of Prime Video’s biggest hits.
About 11 months after its third season came out, Reacher is currently the tenth most popular show on the streaming platform. It’s behind other hits like Spartacus: House of Ashur, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Yo soy Betty la fea. Right now, Fallout is the most popular show.
I’m so thrilled to see Reacher consistently ranking among the most-watched shows on Prime Video! It’s fantastic news, especially considering how well season 3 did. Seeing Alan Ritchson back as the incredibly imposing Jack Reacher, taking on an arms-trafficking operation in Maine, really drew people in. In just the first 19 days, a massive 54.6 million viewers tuned in – that’s even a bit more than season 2, with a 0.5% increase! It just proves how much people love this show.
Critics also loved the latest season. The show has consistently received positive reviews, and season 3 continued that success, earning a 98% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
Many people are calling Reacher the ideal ‘dad show’ because of its straightforward hero and exciting action. While it’s not clear exactly why, the show has recently returned to the top 10 on Prime Video, and it’s likely viewers are seeking out something simple and enjoyable to watch, especially during a potentially difficult time of year.
Interest in the show is growing as fans eagerly anticipate both season 4 and a new spinoff centered around the character Neagley. While neither has a confirmed release date, the Neagley spinoff is currently projected to premiere in early 2026, with season 4 – which finished filming last November – expected to follow later in the year.
Season 4 of Reacher will be based on Lee Child’s novel Gone Tomorrow. The story begins when Reacher witnesses a suicide on the New York City subway and quickly becomes entangled in a complicated and risky investigation to uncover the real story.
Based on the success of the first three seasons, season 4 is expected to do very well for Prime Video. However, it’s uncertain how viewers will react to the new show featuring Neagley. Because this spinoff isn’t based on a Jack Carr novel, the storyline is currently unknown. While Jack Ritchson will return, he’ll be playing a smaller role than before.
Despite some uncertainty about future installments, the original show clearly still has a dedicated fanbase. Announcements for season 4 of Reacher and the Neagley series are probably coming soon, and fans seem to be happily rewatching the existing seasons in the meantime.
