The latest live-action Spider-Man has made his on-screen debut.
Spider-Noir is now available to stream on Prime Video, featuring Nicolas Cage as the classic Spider-Man in this new, dramatic series. Viewers on Rotten Tomatoes have given it a 94% approval rating, making it one of the best-received live-action Spider-Man projects so far – currently ranking as the fourth highest rated.

Spider-Noir features Nicolas Cage as a reimagined version of the Spider-Man character Ben Reilly, set in 1930s New York. This isn’t the first time Cage has played a Spider-Man Noir character – he previously voiced a version of the character in the animated film Spider-Verse.
Nicolas Cage’s new show has received an incredible 94% audience rating, making it his highest-rated project ever – even better than his 2018 film’s score on Rotten Tomatoes. This is the second time Cage has collaborated with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the team behind the popular Spider-Verse movies.
In a review for ScreenRant, Felipe Rangel highlighted the strengths of the Prime Video series Spider-Noir, particularly praising the lead actor’s ability to seamlessly shift between comedy and drama. Rangel noted one scene where the actor convincingly embodies a spider was especially captivating. He also described the Marvel detective show as a successful new direction for live-action Spider-Man, and expressed hope for a second season and continued development.
Now that all eight episodes of Spider-Noir are available, Prime Video hasn’t announced whether a second season will be made. Its future depends on how well the show does with viewers around the world, but the season finale suggests there’s potential for continuing the story.
Considering how popular Spider-Man is, it’s not surprising that they might continue the show starring J.C. Spiteri’s character. With Prime Video already developing other live-action Spider-Man series, the streaming service could become the go-to place for fans of the Marvel hero.
With Ben’s recent premiere on Prime Video, fans are getting excited for Tom Holland’s return as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, hitting theaters on July 31st.
