The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time likely won’t be shown at The Game Awards this year.
According to insider Tom Henderson, the game is scheduled to be released on January 16th. Many expected to see it featured at Geoff Keighley’s event next week, as Ubisoft likely wants to start taking pre-orders soon.
The official Prince of Persia account on X (formerly Twitter) responded to a fan asking for updates by saying they won’t be making an announcement right now.
We regret to inform you that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will not be featured at this year’s Game Awards, according to a spokesperson.
It’s important to note that Henderson’s initial report didn’t actually say the game would be at The Game Awards. He simply pointed out that, given the anticipated early-next-year release, it would be a logical place to showcase it.
We predict this game will be released suddenly, without much advance warning or promotion from Ubisoft.
The publisher, a French company, could reveal the game before Christmas, but considering how long it’s been in development, we suspect they’ll wait until it’s almost ready to purchase before making an announcement.
Let’s wait and see what news the next few weeks bring, shall we?
