As of June 7th, 2026, IOI announced that the game 007 First Light has surpassed three million units sold. This follows an initial report of 2.7 million units sold in its first week after launching on May 26th.
In an interview with IGN, CEO Hakan Abrak revealed the new James Bond game is exceeding sales expectations and is currently selling better than any other game the studio has ever released.
He explained that the reported $200 million budget for the game covers more than just development – it also includes expenses like marketing. He expressed strong confidence that the game will be profitable.
IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have shared positive sales figures for the recently released James Bond game, 007 First Light, which has been very well-received by players.
The game has sold over 2.7 million copies in its first week, the companies report. This sales number has also been widely shared on social media.

The game got off to a fantastic start, selling 1.5 million copies on its first day, and that strong performance has continued throughout its first week.
What’s really exciting is that there’s much more to come for the game. Not only is a version for the next Nintendo Switch on the way, but the developers plan to add tons of new content and updates after launch, giving players plenty of reasons to keep playing even after they finish the main story.
The action adventure is a big hit, but Amazon’s unclear communication about future installments is causing concern. While Amazon will now publish the game, fans are worried they might remove development responsibilities from IOI, the team that did such a fantastic job creating it.
That’s probably not true. I’m confident IOI will continue developing future James Bond games, as they’re clearly a great fit for creating both compelling stories and long-lasting, engaging gameplay.
