A popular game originally released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) in 2006 is being re-released on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. 2006 was a fantastic year for the PSP, with hit games like Daxter, Monster Hunter Freedom, Killzone: Liberation, and LocoRoco significantly strengthening its library. Now, a beloved title from that year is surprisingly returning next month.
I was so excited to hear PlayStation is bringing back Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection! This version of Tekken 5 first hit arcades, and then came to the PSP back in 2006. Everyone loved it – it was considered one of the best fighting games you could play on the PlayStation Portable. And now, next month on March 17th, we’ll be able to play it on PS5 and PS4! It’s awesome to see a classic like this make a comeback.
Should You Check Out This PSP Game?

As expected, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection will be included with a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription as the newest “Classic” game added to the catalog in March 2026. Players who don’t have PS Plus Premium will also be able to buy the game separately on the PlayStation Store. The price hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s likely to be around $9.99, similar to other re-released PSP titles.
If you want to try Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, it’s still a fun game to play. The PSP version isn’t quite as polished as the console release, but it’s definitely still enjoyable. Of course, Tekken 8 on PS5 is a more modern and improved experience. However, if you’re a fan of the older Tekken games, it’s great that Dark Resurrection is now available on the PlayStation Store, joining the other classic titles that have been added over time.
