Queen Latifah brought down the house at the 2026 American Music Awards.
Ahead of the May 25th award show, which she hosted, 55-year-old Niecy Nash brought along some very special guests: her partner, Eboni Nichols, and their son, Rebel.
Queen Latifah celebrated by wearing a large, gray and white fur coat. She cinched the coat at her waist with a white belt and styled her hair in a smooth, pulled-back ponytail.
Eboni wore a forest green dress with cutouts and a matching jacket. She and her partner each held one of their son’s hands, while their 7-year-old daughter, Kaavia, held Eboni’s other hand. Kaavia joined the family as they walked the carpet.
Okay, so Eboni and Queen Latifah are, like, seriously couple goals – they’ve been together forever and we get little glimpses of them out and about all the time. But the AMAs? Oh my gosh, it was Rebel’s first big red carpet moment and I nearly died! He looked absolutely adorable in a little black suit jacket with a crisp white shirt, black shorts, and the cutest knee-high socks. I’ve been screenshotting pictures all night, honestly. It was just the sweetest thing ever!
But Rebel’s best accessory was his smile as he stood hand-in-hand with his moms.
Queen Latifah recently returned to host the American Music Awards after a thirty-year gap. She last hosted the show in 1995 with Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan.
Before this year’s awards show, actress Queen Latifah, known for her role in Last Holiday, discussed what goes into performing as the host.
In a video posted to Instagram on May 24th, she advised viewers to ignore outside distractions, explaining that the focus should remain on the events of the show.
Okay, seriously, out of everyone performing, the one I was losing my mind over? Teyana Taylor, hands down. I’ve been waiting forever to see her live, and I was practically vibrating with excitement just thinking about it!
Queen Latifah shared that she’s seen the artist perform live and thinks she’s amazing on stage. She believes this has been a challenging year for the artist and that returning to her music will be a powerful way to reconnect with her roots and showcase her vocal talent.
On the night of the show, the singer known as One Battle After Another proved she’s a captivating performer, not just a vocalist, with her rendition of “All of Your Heart.”
