TopMob and Latitude Festival are teaming up to find out which TV show best represents the last twenty years.
As a movie and TV reviewer, I’ve seen a lot change in the last two decades. We’ve had incredibly powerful dramas, comedies that really defined a moment in time, and shows that became worldwide obsessions thanks to streaming. Now, they’re asking us – the viewers – to pick the one program that truly rises above it all. It’s a tough choice, honestly!
Voting is now open to the public, and after that, a panel of TV experts will choose the ultimate winner. The winner will be announced live at the Latitude Festival at Henham Park this summer as part of the event’s anniversary festivities.
From the epic power struggles of shows like Game of Thrones and Succession, to the intimate look at royalty in The Crown, and the gritty portrayal of life in Baltimore in The Wire, television has consistently captivated audiences with compelling stories of power, society, and the human condition.
Recently, shows like Line of Duty and Happy Valley have captivated audiences with their intense suspense. Meanwhile, Breaking Bad impressed viewers with its powerful and gritty storytelling, and Fleabag deeply resonated with its raw and honest portrayal of emotions.

Popular TV shows from around the world are changing what we watch. South Korea’s Squid Game became a massive hit globally, Dark from Germany brought a new approach to science fiction, and Money Heist from Spain showed that viewers don’t mind watching shows with subtitles.
Comedy is thriving in both the US and the UK. Popular British shows like Gavin & Stacey, Derry Girls, Taskmaster, and Inside No. 9 have each found unique ways to make audiences laugh, and American hits such as The Office, Parks and Recreation, Schitt’s Creek, and Ted Lasso have proven that comedy can be both funny and genuinely touching.

Popular shows like Strictly Come Dancing, The Great British Bake Off, and Planet Earth II have united viewers, and dramas have consistently broken new ground. Series such as Peaky Blinders, Luther, Black Mirror, I May Destroy You, Mad Men, The Handmaid’s Tale, The White Lotus, Slow Horses, and It’s a Sin are all considered standout programs of recent times.
The timing of this vote is perfect, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Latitude Festival in 2026. You can cast your vote until Wednesday, July 9th.
Whatever your choice might be – cast your vote now.
