Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely considered one of the best games ever made. However, because it came out in 2018, there’s room for improvement with an update for today’s consoles.
Today’s gaming hardware is much more powerful than what people had when the last game came out, and there’s increasing demand for a new version that utilizes this improved technology. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is clearly a popular game, it’s uncertain how much players would pay for a sequel, largely depending on how much work Rockstar puts into it.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Have Had Enough
Someone on Reddit recently wondered if Rockstar Games might update John Marston’s appearance after the main story. Many have noticed he looks a lot like Arthur Morgan, and it’s a different look than what we usually see for that character.
This sparked a conversation among players about what they’d like to see in a new version, and how much they’d be willing to spend on a game they’ve already experienced.
One person commented that they weren’t expecting much for the price, and would be happily proven wrong.
One person commented that the updated Definitive Edition is surprisingly good. They also pointed out that Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t really need major changes, as it still looks great, and perhaps just some improved textures would be sufficient.
Honestly, I’m totally fine with them handling this new game the way they did with GTA V. It wasn’t a free upgrade, but it was only about ten bucks for those of us who already owned the game, and they really went above and beyond, adding a bunch of cool graphical improvements and even tweaking some of the gameplay itself!
GTA 6 Is The Obvious Priority Right Now
Right now, Rockstar Games is completely focused on making GTA VI. And because the online version of the game will likely keep them busy and profitable for many years to come, it could be a long wait before they start working on another Western-themed game.
Even if a sequel to Red Dead Redemption 2 is never made, there’s a huge fanbase ready and waiting if Rockstar decides to revisit the game in the future.
