Regular Show Planning Major Event For The Lost Tapes Premiere

After a long break, Cartoon Network is bringing back the characters from the popular show, Regular Show! A spin-off called Regular Show: The Lost Tapes is coming next month, and it will take place during the events of the original eight seasons. To get fans excited, Cartoon Network is planning a big event celebrating the series. With plenty of old episodes and new content, Regular Show wants to remind everyone about the funny adventures of Mordecai and Rigby.

Get ready for some Regular Show! Cartoon Network is hosting a marathon of the series starting May 6th, beginning with the first episode and playing them in order. This is perfect timing with the new special, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes, coming out on May 11th. While they won’t be able to show all 250 episodes from its eight seasons, the marathon is a great way to revisit Mordecai and Rigby’s wacky adventures. If you miss any of it, you can stream the entire series on Hulu.

How The Lost Tapes Work

Despite the title, Regular Show: The Lost Tapes isn’t a continuation of the original series, which had a satisfying conclusion. The finale showed what happened to the characters in the future, following Pops’s death during a space adventure. We saw Rigby and Mordecai as adults, along with the other park employees, all grown up. The episode ended with a heartwarming reunion where everyone brought their families. The final scene revealed Pops seemingly watching all their adventures on a VHS tape labeled “Regular Show,” suggesting that The Lost Tapes are actually part of his personal collection.

Good news for fans! The upcoming spin-off will feature many of the original creative team and voice actors, bringing back the humorous adventures of Mordecai and Rigby. JG Quintel, the creator of the series and the voice of Mordecai, is returning as showrunner. He’ll be joined by William Salyers (Rigby), Mark Hamill (Skips), Sam Marin (Muscleman), and Minty Lewis (Eileen), all reprising their roles. The spin-off is confirmed to have forty-four episodes, a strong start for the show’s revival. Plus, Quintel is also developing a brand new animated series called SuperMutant Magic Academy, which is expected to premiere later this year.
