After years in development and a few setbacks, Sad Cat Studios’ action platformer, Replaced, will officially launch on March 12th. But if you’re eager to jump into its stunning pixel art and cyberpunk world, a free demo is available on Steam right now!
After an artificial intelligence named R.E.A.C.H. unexpectedly transfers into a human body, you find yourself fleeing the powerful Phoenix Corporation and navigating the dangerous city of Phoenix-City. However, this isn’t the America you might remember. A nuclear disaster has left a third of the country devastated, turning Phoenix-City into a lawless place filled with criminals, poverty, and terrifying threats that you’ll have to overcome.
R.E.A.C.H. is far from defenseless. It features a fast-paced combat system, similar to the Batman: Arkham games, but presented in a 2.5D style. Players can dodge attacks, deliver counter-blows, and smoothly combine attacks. A secondary weapon allows for stylish takedowns, both from a distance and up close. Beyond combat, the game also includes platforming, puzzles, and various side quests to complete throughout the world.
After a nearly five-year wait since it was first revealed, Replaced has changed a lot, and now boasts stunning visuals. It launches on March 12th for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will be available with Xbox Game Pass.
