Capcom has once again delivered a hit with their newest game, Resident Evil Requiem, which has been met with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
The new horror action game came out right before the weekend on February 27, 2026, and early sales numbers look very promising.
We’ve received the initial sales figures for physical copies in the UK. Although this is just a small part of the total sales, it suggests Requiem is performing very strongly, and could be a sign of wider success.
I’m so excited – the game launched at number one in the UK physical charts! What’s really cool is that over half of those copies – 54%, to be exact – were for the PS5. That shows how many of us are playing it on PlayStation!
According to Christopher Dring, editor-in-chief of The Game Business, the game had a launch weekend that surpassed both Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil 4 remake – the series’ two most recent big releases.
Capcom is also in the top 10 with Monster Hunter Wilds, which jumps from 25th to 10th place.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga jumped up in the charts, moving from fifteenth to seventh place. At the same time, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 dropped from sixth to ninth.
Both Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and the newest game, Mortal Kombat 1, are also popular, ranking fifth and eighth respectively.
Here’s the full top 10 (physical sales only).
