Weapons was both a critical and commercial success, earning an Academy Award for Amy Madigan and bringing in nearly $270 million worldwide on a $38 million budget. With audiences eager for his next project, Cregger is currently working on a new Resident Evil movie, slated for release this fall, before returning to the Weapons universe with a prequel focusing on Aunt Gladys.
