I’ve always been a huge Rod Stewart fan, and let’s be honest, a lot of us women have found him incredibly attractive over the years! At 81, he’s definitely lived a full life, and his dating history shows it’s been… well, complicated! It’s no surprise he’s had so many relationships.
In his 2012 autobiography, Rod: The Autobiography, he described himself as someone constantly searching for new experiences and jokingly suggested he was determined to be remembered as one of history’s great womanizers.
His zest for life led to a large family – he has eight children, now grown from ages 15 to 62. Looking through his family photos is like reading a long and wonderful story.
You know, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized true happiness isn’t about accomplishments or possessions. For me, it’s incredibly simple: seeing my kids and my wife genuinely happy and smiling. That’s what really fills my heart these days.
His third wife, Penny Lancaster, who he shares two sons with – Alastair, 20, and Aiden, 15 – carefully navigated her way into the already large and established Stewart family.
The model told the BBC in December that the show featured a diverse cast of characters, and crucially, included children of various ages and from different families.
Four other mothers, to be exact, two of them Rod’s ex-wives Alana Stewart and Rachel Hunter.
Penny explained that it took a while to build a good relationship with Rod Stewart’s children, including Kimberly Stewart, 46, and Sean Stewart, 45, from his marriage to Alana.

The artist explained to the BBC that the secret to his and Penny’s happy marriage might be the maturity he offered, while acknowledging that she taught him the importance of honesty.
He explained that they avoid arguing before bed, and if disagreements do happen, they resolve them very quickly.
Rod shared that he teaches his children – all of them – that true strength lies in being able to apologize. He values the honest connection they have and hopes it continues for a long time.
Here’s everything to know about Rod’s big, blended family:

Rod Stewart, who was knighted by Prince William in 2016, is a celebrated musician known for his timeless songs. As a member of The Faces, he sang hits like “Maggie May,” “Tonight’s the Night,” and “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” He also enjoyed solo success in the 1980s with songs like “Forever Young” and “Downtown Train.” He’s a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Despite being nominated for 15 Grammy Awards, he has only won once, receiving the award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2005 for Stardust … The Great American Songbook Volume III.
Rod Stewart, a father of eight and grandfather of four, continues to perform with a Las Vegas show. He was recently celebrated with a televised tribute concert called Forever Young: A Grammy Salute to Rod Stewart Live on May 19th.

Rod became a dad at 18 when he welcomed daughter Sarah with girlfriend Susannah Boffey in 1964.
Sarah was adopted by Gerald and Evelyn Thubron, and she didn’t discover Rod was her biological father until she turned 18.
They saw each other a few times in the 1980s but then reconnected in 2007 after her parents died.
Sarah told The Mirror in 2018 that her relationship with her father had changed a lot over time. She explained it took a while for them to connect simply as father and daughter, because he was also a famous celebrity. But now, she said, he’s just ‘Dad’ to her and their relationship is much more relaxed.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by blended families. Take Alana Hamilton, for example. She and her then-husband, George Hamilton, married and quickly started their family. Just four months after tying the knot, in August of 1979, they welcomed their daughter, Kimberly Alan Stewart. Alana was also mom to Ashley Hamilton from a previous relationship, creating a lovely, full life.
In his 2012 autobiography, Rod: The Autobiography, the singer wrote that he was instantly smitten with the woman, saying, ‘The doctor introduced her to me, and I fell in love with her immediately.’

As someone who’s always juggling multiple passions – acting, singing, and keeping things beautifully organized – I’m also a mom! My wonderful daughter, Delilah, is my pride and joy, and I co-parent her with Benicio del Toro. It’s a full life, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Actor Jason Priestley, known for his role in Princes of Malibu, was born on September 1, 1980. Interestingly, his mother went into labor while at their beach house in Malibu.
Sean shared with Hollywood Life that his father, Rod, was very supportive after he started his athleisure brand, Dirty Weekend, in 2022. Rod told Sean he was proud of him for pursuing his own vision and being creative, which made him very happy.
Sean married Jody Weintraub, the daughter of the late producer Jerry Weintraub, in February 2023, but they have since split up. In 2024, he publicly began dating Julia Stambler, who founded the company SkinSane.

Rod welcomed daughter Ruby with partner Kelly Emberg on June 17, 1987.
Despite admitting in his memoir he expected Kelly to leave him after their baby Ruby was born because of his cheating, he also wrote that they shared a lot of joyful and peaceful moments together.
Model and musician Ruby and her fiancé, Jake Kalick, welcomed their son, Otis Stewart Kalick, on May 9, 2023. They announced in May 2026 that they are expecting another baby.

Rod Stewart married model Rachel Hunter on December 15, 1990, just three months after they first met at a Los Angeles nightclub.
Their daughter Renée Cecili Stewart was born June 1, 1992.
Now, Renée leads a relatively private life as a yoga and meditation instructor.
She recalled that when she was in school in Los Angeles, she used to tell people her father worked ‘in entertainment.’ She explained that, while she had nothing against her father, she was eager to establish her own identity and life.

Rachel and Rod welcomed son Liam McAlister Stewart on Sept. 5, 1994.
Liam grew up playing hockey in Los Angeles, eventually working his way up to professional level. He then played for the Milton Keynes Lightning in the U.K.’s National League.
Liam explained to Fox Sports in 2015 that people at the rink called him ‘Stewie,’ which made him feel like just one of the guys – and he loved it.
Liam and his wife, Nicole Artukovich, have two children: a son named Louie Mark Roderick Stewart and a daughter named Elsie Skylar Stewart.

Rod Stewart began dating Penny Lancaster in 1999, and they had a son, Alastair Wallace Stewart, in 2005. They later married on June 16, 2007, in Portofino.
Alastair recently became the face of Palm Angels, appearing in their 2022 billboard campaign. He also often attends Celtic FC games with his dad.

Penny and Rod welcomed Aiden Patrick Stewart on Feb. 16, 2011, the artist’s eighth child.
Although Penny and her partner had discussed expanding their family, she explained to Saga magazine in September 2025 that they worried the age difference between potential children would be too large.
