There has been a lot of discussion about the launch dates and prices for the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X. It was commonly believed that they would cost €599 and €899 respectively, but these figures were not officially confirmed along with rumors suggesting pre-orders starting this month. However, their release date was yet to be announced. But now, we finally have an update on that.
According to Dealabs’ billbil-kun, it’s rumored that handheld PCs will be launched on October 16th, as previously suggested. Microsoft is expected to reveal more details about this during their Xbox broadcast at Gamescom on August 20th. The leaker also mentioned that these devices won’t be exclusive to the Microsoft Store and can be bought from retailers such as Amazon.
Indeed, the date holds even more significance as it brings us closer to the release of the highly anticipated game, “Hollow Knight: Silksong“. Initially announced as playable at launch for the Xbox Series X|S, Team Cherry later specified that it would be available before the handheld devices. With playable demos at both the Xbox and Nintendo booths at Gamescom, it’s likely that an announcement will be made soon, possibly during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19th.
