A new rumor has emerged regarding a potential Avengers and X-Men crossover movie.
The film titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is currently being produced by Marvel Studios, with Joe and Anthony Russo, famously known as the Russo Brothers, at the helm as directors. Expected to hit U.S. cinemas in December 2026, it will be followed by another installment, “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which is scheduled for release a year later, in December 2027.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that both these films belong to Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the future, it seems we’ll officially welcome the X-Men into the MCU, marking the commencement of a fresh and thrilling Mutant Saga.
What is the new rumor about the X-Men and Avengers crossover movie?
As reported by insider Alex Perez, it’s being speculated that one potential movie project from Marvel could be titled “Judgment Day.” However, it’s important to note that this is currently just a rumor, as Marvel Studios (which is owned by Disney) has not yet made any official announcements regarding the matter.
In my opinion, diving into the thrilling world of Judgment Day (or A.X.E.: Judgement Day, as it’s also called) was an unforgettable experience in 2022. This epic Marvel Comics event, crafted by the brilliant minds of writer Kieron Gillen and artist Valerio Schiti, brings together the Avengers, X-Men, and the Eternals for a grand spectacle that leaves readers on the edge of their seats! As a movie reviewer, I can confidently say this is not one to miss.
The narrative goes like this: “The X-Men now possess eternal life, and mutants have risen to rule the planet. The Eternals, meanwhile, have uncovered ancient secrets about their species, some of which pertain to the destructive nature of mutantkind. The Avengers find themselves at odds with the Celestials, operating from a downed Celestial as they explore its hidden depths. When the Eternals attack Krakoa, the mutant nation, the Avengers strive to prevent a catastrophic war. However, this is more than just a disagreement. The Eternals’ mission is irrefutable and the future of mutants is not at stake. Following the initial skirmishes, new actors and secrets will surface for both sides as the denizens of the Marvel Universe are evaluated by an immense power they’ve never encountered before.
The reception for Judgment Day was diverse, with both fans and critics offering a range of opinions. Some admired the spectacle and mood of the event, while others found fault with its narrative and conclusion.
