Atlus is teasing fans again with mysterious titles! They often do this, getting people excited without revealing much information.
Next year, 2026, will be the 30th anniversary of the Persona game series. Atlus, the game’s developer, has hinted at sharing new information and updates throughout the year to celebrate.
Fans are hoping the next update will include the original Persona and Persona 2 games, either through a re-release or a remastered version.
A new line of Persona clothing celebrating the 30th anniversary is now on Amazon, with designs inspired by the original Persona and Persona 2 games.
Games connected to the very first Persona title are now being called ‘Persona 1 Origins,’ and anything relating to Persona 2 is being referred to as ‘Persona 2 Duality.’ This has caused some concern, as Atlus hasn’t used these kinds of subtitles before.
The current speculation is that “Persona 1 Origins” and “Persona 2 Duality” are the titles of upcoming re-releases, updated versions, or full remakes of the classic games.
It makes sense why people are thinking that, especially since all the clothing items are labeled this way. However, let’s not assume it’s definitive. It’s possible these are simply the names for each product line – which, knowing Atlus, isn’t that surprising.
It’s been a very long time since the developers updated the original Persona and Persona 2 games. They’ve largely been ignored in favor of the more successful later installments in the series.
Considering that, revisiting those earlier games could be really exciting. Most fans know the Persona series from Persona 3 onward, which means the older titles feel quite distinct and offer a different RPG experience.
Atlus is clearly working to bring back some of its classic games. We saw this recently with the release of Raidou Remastered, and the company has announced plans to remaster more older titles with support from SEGA.
So, what do you think about this? Is this a genuine leak, or are fans overthinking the unusual names Atlus has been using? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
