Sam Mendes’s Beatles movies have ‘nothing to do with the truth’, says Pattie Boyd – and no one’s contacted her

Speaking about the upcoming films about her life, the former model and ex-wife of George Harrison said she’d expect someone to have told her who was cast to play her – but admits she might be mistaken.

Sam Mendes, the director who won an Oscar, is creating a four-film documentary about The Beatles. Each film will focus on the story of the band, but told from the point of view of a different member.

Paul Mescal will play Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson will portray John Lennon, Joseph Quinn will take on the role of George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan will be Ringo Starr in the upcoming film.

Aimee Lou Wood, known for her roles in Sex Education and The White Lotus, will portray Boyd, a character who initially connected with Harrison on the set of the 1964 film, A Hard Day’s Night.

Pattie Boyd and George Harrison married in 1966 but divorced eleven years later, in 1977. Surprisingly, despite her significant connection to the band and the fact that the film included a character based on her, she says no one from the production has ever reached out to her.

During a recent interview on the podcast Miss O’Dell: Abbey Road To Tulsa Time, she wondered aloud, “Wouldn’t they have told me if something was happening?” She added that she hadn’t heard from anyone.

I had a lot of stories I could have shared,” she went on. “But I don’t think they’re interested in hearing them. It seems like they want to build something entirely new, a story of their own.

Pattie Boyd, a model and photographer who famously inspired songs like “I Need You” and “Wonderful Tonight” after marrying George Harrison and Eric Clapton, later stated that she believes the Beatles’ films aren’t accurate depictions of events, as those involved seem unwilling to share their firsthand experiences.

Boyd did playfully mention she wouldn’t dwell on being excluded, and wouldn’t let it make her upset.

TopMob reached out to representatives for both Justin Mendes and the film ‘The Beatles: A Four-Film Cinema Experience’ for a statement.
