Growing up, my four children were always allowed to stay up late to watch Children in Need. After spending the day raising money at school, they’d eagerly gather around the TV to see Terry Wogan, Pudsey, and the team announce the total amount raised, and they’d squeal with delight at each update. Now that they’ve all moved out, they’re continuing the tradition with their own children.

Children in Need is a fantastic and vital charity, and Radio 2 always provides strong support. This year, Sara Cox is continuing that tradition by taking on a tough challenge to help raise money.

Clive Myrie interviewed a woman from Bolton who’s bravely planning to walk 135 miles in just five days, despite having a painful knee. Bolton natives Vernon Kay and Paddy McGuinness joined the conversation, sharing how past challenges impacted them personally. You can read the full story in this week’s magazine.
