One of the more surprising announcements from The Game Awards could be Saros, the new game from Housemarque. While it’s scheduled to release early next year and might get its own dedicated presentation beforehand, a new trailer could still debut at this week’s awards show.
The announcement could be as straightforward as letting people know pre-orders are open, especially since the standard and digital deluxe versions were recently rated in Taiwan, as Gematsu pointed out. The base game likely won’t exceed $69.99, but the big question is what extra features the Deluxe Edition will include.
Saros, launching on March 20, 2026 for PS5, is the next game from the creators of Returnal. It builds on the fast-paced shooting and movement of its predecessor, but introduces a shield for absorbing damage. While it keeps some of Returnal’s distinctive visual style, Saros is built with Unreal Engine 5 and offers a more consistent way to upgrade your character.
The Saros standard and Digital Deluxe editions have received ratings in Taiwan, suggesting pre-orders will likely be available soon. More details can be found on Gematsu.
