Housemarque’s new game, Saros, is launching in about three weeks – even sooner for players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition. Recent gameplay clips and trailers, like the one linked here, are showing off the fast-paced action and challenging battles against powerful enemies, and it’s looking great.
The first part of the game throws a lot of projectiles at Arjun Devraj – all sorts of colors and types. Things get even tougher during the Eclipse, as enemies start using corrupted projectiles that can permanently lower your health. Avoiding these attacks is key to staying alive, but Saros introduces new ways to fight back.
The Soltari Shield lets you absorb enemy projectiles and use that energy to power up your weapon for a devastating attack. Arjun can also deflect attacks, briefly stunning enemies and allowing you to follow up with gunfire. Just like in Returnal, exploring the world, finding new weapons, and collecting helpful items will give you a significant advantage.
Similar to the game from 2021, your character will die frequently. Fortunately, Arjun has the ability to revive, and with the help of the Soltari Primary, he can buy improvements to his core stats and learn new abilities. You can also customize the difficulty using Carcosan Modifiers, making the game easier or harder as you prefer.
Saros launches on April 30th for PS5. Check out our feature for everything you should know.
