Se7en Writer’s New Psycho Killer Movie Sets Streaming Release Date After $2.5M Box Office Disaster

Andrew Kevin Walker’s new movie, Psycho Killer, will be available to stream in just a few days, despite not performing well in theaters.

Starting Friday, May 29, 2026, you’ll be able to watch Psycho Killer on both Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. 20th Century Studios shared a 30-second trailer with some scary moments from the movie to announce the release. You can watch the trailer below.

Leslie Walker wrote the screenplay for the R-rated horror film Psycho Killer, which contains intense violence, sexual content, nudity, drug use, and strong language. He’s most famous for writing the 1995 crime thriller Se7en, starring Brad Pitt. Se7en received Oscar and BAFTA nominations for its film editing and original screenplay.

Since then, Walker has contributed to films such as Sleepy Hollow, The Wolfman, Windfall, and The Killer. He’s also written the script for Flesh of the Gods, which is now in production.

Walker was a producer on Psycho Killer, alongside Roy Lee (known for Weapons), Matt Berenson (I, Frankenstein), Arnon Milchan (Barbarian), Martin Moszkowicz (Black Beauty), Robert Kulzer (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), Yariv Milchan (Man on Fire), Natalie Lehmann (Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair), and Kat Landsberg (Dollface).

The film Psycho Killer follows a police officer seeking revenge after a serial killer, known as the Satanic Slasher, murders her husband. It was directed by Gavin Polone, making his directorial debut, but he’s previously worked on popular projects like Panic Room, Little Manhattan, Zombieland, A Dog’s Purpose, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Gilmore Girls.

When Psycho Killer came out in theaters in February, it received very negative reviews. Initially, the film had a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but it later increased slightly to 9%.

Viewers didn’t respond well to the film, giving it a score of just 36%. This was reflected in its poor performance at the box office, where it earned only $2.5 million despite costing $10 million to make, and it didn’t even rank among the top ten movies its opening weekend.

Reviewers were baffled by the shift in quality from Andrew Walker’s acclaimed screenplay for Se7en to his work on Psycho Killer. The film also received criticism for its editing and the process of re-recording dialogue.

Critics generally didn’t like the film, but they praised Georgina Campbell’s acting as Jane Archer. Campbell had already built a solid career with roles in popular shows like Broadchurch, Black Mirror, Krypton, and His Dark Materials, as well as the film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. She previously won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress for her performance in Murdered By My Boyfriend.

James Preston Rogers, Malcolm McDowell, Logan Miller, Grace Dove, Aaron Merke, Nigel Shawn Williams, and David Tomlinson all appear alongside Campbell in the movie Psycho Killer.

As a big horror fan, I was thrilled to see Psycho Killer become available to stream digitally on April 7th – it’s been less than two months since it hit theaters! While there’s no news yet on a Blu-ray or DVD release, you can now watch it from the comfort of your couch with a Hulu or Hulu on Disney+ subscription.

Psycho Killer will be released on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on Friday, May 29, 2026.
