The Netflix documentary about Sean Combs, titled ‘The Reckoning,’ is now available after being announced nearly a year ago.
This four-episode documentary series tells the story of the once-successful music executive, detailing his journey to stardom and his eventual downfall.
A representative for Combs has come out against the new documentary, stating that Netflix is intentionally exaggerating details of his life to create drama and profit from ongoing media attention, regardless of the facts.
Netflix is prioritizing sensationalism over accuracy and Mr. Combs’ legal protections by using private footage – including confidential conversations with his attorneys – without his consent. He never authorized Netflix, or anyone else, to share this material.
Director Alexandria Stapleton has stated to both The Hollywood Reporter and Tudum that the leaked footage was acquired legally and with all the proper rights.
We went to great lengths to protect the filmmaker’s privacy. Sean Combs has a long-standing habit of documenting his life on camera, and he’s been doing it for years.
We repeatedly contacted Sean Combs’s lawyers, hoping to get an interview and a statement, but they didn’t respond.
The series explores different periods of Sean Combs’s life in each episode. The first episode covers his early years and how he became known as ‘Puff Daddy’. Later episodes examine his feud with Death Row Records, the tragic death of The Notorious B.I.G., and Combs’s recent 2024 arrest and the ensuing trial.
So, what happened in that case, and what’s Combs doing now, since he didn’t participate in the documentary? Here’s the latest information.
Where is Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs now?

Sean Combs received a sentence of four years and two months in prison in October after being found guilty of violating the Mann Act, which involves transporting individuals across state lines for the purpose of illegal sexual activity.
He was acquitted of the most serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
Before sentencing Combs, Judge Arun Subramanian heard an apology from him to his victims, including Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura and another woman, who testified using a pseudonym.
He admitted his behavior was awful and embarrassing, explaining that he’d become consumed by indulgence and his own pride.
He is currently serving the sentence in New Jersey and is set for release in May 2028.
