As a gamer, I just stumbled upon some exciting news – there’s a fresh firmware update for my PlayStation 5! However, it seems like Sony is keeping it under wraps for now since I couldn’t find any official announcement about it online. Strangely enough, my PS5 console hasn’t prompted me to download it either, so I guess we’re in on this secret together!
The PS5’s system software weighs approximately 1.34GB. To initiate a download, navigate to the Settings menu from the main screen. Inside this menu, choose the System option, then click on System Software Update and Settings. If an update is available, it will be displayed at the top for you to start the download process.
Straight from Sony, the patch note for update 25.05-11.60.00 is the following:
- We’ve improved system software performance and stability.
Following several PS5 firmware updates that primarily addressed other aspects of the user experience, it’s refreshing to see Sony revisit improvements in system stability. It seems unlikely that this update will bring any significant changes beneath the surface, but should any new issues arise, we’ll be sure to revise this post accordingly.
