Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Developer Reports a Profit of Around £5 Million Until June 30th, 2025

Ninja Theory recently reported its financial results through June 30th, 2025, showing the company is performing as expected. The report highlighted the success of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition, which received positive reviews. The studio spent much of the previous year finishing and releasing the Enhanced Edition, including a version for PlayStation 5, and this work led to an improved Metacritic score for the game.

Ninja Theory’s main focus during the past year was developing and launching Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2: Enhanced Edition, an upgraded version of Hellblade II, on all available platforms, including PlayStation 5. The game launched successfully on August 12, 2025, and received a higher score on Metacritic.

Ninja Theory reported a 9% drop in revenue, earning £22.3 million this year compared to £24.5 million last year. The studio explained this decrease is due to internal financial arrangements and planned business activity. Operating costs, managed by Microsoft’s budgeting team, also fell by 13.36% to £18.709 million. Despite the revenue decrease, the studio maintains a healthy financial position with positive assets.

Ninja Theory made approximately £5 million in profit for the year that ended June 30, 2025.

Originally launched on PC and Xbox Series X/S in 2024, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 came to PlayStation 5 in August 2025 with a free upgrade to the Enhanced Edition. This upgrade included improvements like a 60 frames-per-second mode for consoles and a higher graphics setting for PC. It also reintroduced the Dark Rot mode from the first game, where the Rot spreads further on Senua if she falls.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 picks up right after the events of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Senua’s village is attacked by Northmen, and she’s captured and taken to Iceland as a slave, but this is actually part of her plan to defeat the raiders at their origin. This sequel is much more ambitious than the first game, featuring a grand story with new allies and a deeper look into Senua’s struggles with the Furies and her inner demons.

In 2024, the studio shared that when Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was first shown in 2019, only the announcement trailer was complete. Full development on the game didn’t actually begin until 2020, after Ninja Theory finished working on their multiplayer game, Bleeding Edge.
