In a delightful turn of events, Hellblade makes its triumphant comeback to where it all began with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, set to debut on PlayStation 5 soon. Notably, the technical director Gavin Costello has shared insights into how seamless the transition from Xbox Series X/S and PC versions to PS5 has been.
Fans can look forward to Adaptive Feedback, Haptic Triggers, and Dolby Atmos as new features. What’s particularly interesting is the way the team approached PlayStation 5 Pro compatibility for Hellblade 2. Although the game was built using Unreal Engine 5, it wasn’t initially designed to recognize PS5 Pro. As a result, Ninja Theory took elements from later versions and incorporated PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution and Variable Rate Shading into the game for better performance on the PS5 Pro.
Absolutely, players using Xbox Series X/S or PC platforms have something exciting to anticipate with the Enhanced update. This upgrade includes a Performance Mode for Series X, offering smooth 60 FPS gameplay, and an elevated “Very High” setting on PC for even more stunning visuals. Additionally, there’s a fresh challenge mode called Dark Rot, a tribute to the narrative concept of Senua’s Sacrifice.
The highly anticipated game, “Hellblade 2,” featuring Senua’s Saga, is scheduled to release on August 12th for PlayStation 5. For additional information, you can read our review here.
