Seth Rogen Addresses Sequel to His, James Franco’s Pineapple Express

Seth Rogencould be open to taking another hit of Pineapple Express.

In a recent conversation, the 43-year-old suggested that it’s possible a streaming platform such as Netflix or Apple TV+ might consider producing a follow-up to the 2008 stoner film he made with James Franco, which is highly regarded by many.

During his August 12th interview on ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Seth mentioned, “It’s quite likely that we might find it on a streaming platform or similar. The potential market could be significant; you just never know.

Instead, the actor from the Studio expressed his feelings by saying, “Sequels aren’t really my forte. I don’t naturally think in those terms, but who knows, I might change my mind someday.

Seth has made it clear that he’s open to creating another screenplay, but it’s not the first occasion a sequel to “Pineapple Express” has been proposed.

As a lifestyle expert, I shared during my August 2020 interview on The Howard Stern Show, as reported by Variety, that I had attempted to bring a project to life, but due to the Sony hack, I was able to uncover an email thread indicating Sony’s decision to shelve the film. He shared with Variety in October that he hadn’t recently communicated with Seth. Despite having a wonderful 20-year partnership with him, he mentioned that things seem to have ended. Yet, he emphasized that his attempts to reconcile weren’t successful. In fact, he expressed his deep appreciation for Seth.

 

As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that, having collaborated with my old friend’s younger brother, Dave Franco, on The Studio, I expressed my thoughts about James’ opinions during an interview with Esquire in February. I confessed that due to my limited consumption of media, it simply didn’t catch my attention.
