Seth Rogen is playing a big role in bringing back beloved Disney shows with new versions, like The Muppet Show, and it sounds like his next project is progressing well. Rogen has found success not only as an actor, but also as a producer, with shows like The Studio. He’s been working to update classic Disney franchises for a new generation through reboots and revivals.
I was really surprised to hear that Seth Rogen is involved in a new take on Darkwing Duck, the classic Disney Afternoon cartoon! There was talk of a reboot about six years ago, but we haven’t heard much since. I recently read an interview with one of the original actors, and they said things are moving forward, though they haven’t actually started recording much yet. It’s still exciting to hear it’s potentially happening!
Darkwing Duck Star Offers Promising Update on New Revival
Jim Cummings, the original voice of Darkwing Duck, has hinted he’ll be back for the new revival of the show. He’s excited about the project, saying it’s been a long time coming and that the original cast is still involved. Seth Rogen, a friend of Cummings, is reportedly a key player in bringing the revival to life. However, Cummings also suggested that the new version will be quite different from the original.
According to Cummings, they’ve only explored one new direction with the show so far. He explained that they’re taking a ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ approach, as Gosalyn has grown up. He hinted that fans of the original Darkwing Duck shouldn’t be surprised by the changes, even with this significant development to a core character.
Darkwing Duck to Get Darker With New Reboot

In a recent statement, Cummings discussed the upcoming revival of Darkwing Duck. He mentioned it would be interesting to see how the hero has changed after 30 years, and hinted that Gosalyn will be portrayed as an adult. He expressed his excitement about the show’s return, calling it a project close to his heart.
The upcoming Darkwing Duck series appears to be a continuation of the original, rather than a complete reimagining like the DuckTales reboot was a few years ago. Given the positive updates from Cummings, fans are hoping we’ll get a first look at the new series soon.
