Konami recently shared that Silent Hill f has now sold over two million copies globally as of April 22nd. The game previously reached a milestone of one million copies sold within just one day of its release on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
I’m really excited about Silent Hill f! It’s being made by NeoBards, the team behind games like Resident Evil Resistance and Re:Verse. The story follows a young woman named Shimizu Hinako in a made-up town called Ebisuagaoka, back in the 1960s. She has a tough home life, but seems to have good friends. But then, a creepy fog rolls in, and things get crazy with monsters appearing. It all comes to a head when she ends up in this bizarre place called the Dark Shrine – it’s like another world entirely, and that’s when things really get wild for her.
While the gameplay of Silent Hill f received some criticism, it was ultimately considered functional. The game was highly praised for its story, written by Ryukishi07, known for the Higurashi and Umineko series. The creature designs by artist Kera were also well-received, contributing to the game’s strong visual style.
You can read our full review of Silent Hill f for more information. Like many games by Ryukishi07, you’ll need to play through it several times to understand the complete story. You can find more details here, but be careful – there are spoilers!
