The creator of Silent Hill hopes to release a new game in the series annually if their plans come to fruition.
In a recent interview with Famitsu magazine, Motoi Okamoto shared his primary goal, acknowledging it’s a challenging one, but remains his top priority.
He said, as translated by Genki on X (or Twitter):
Following the October 2024 release of Silent Hill 2, we successfully launched Silent Hill F in September 2025, revitalizing the Silent Hill franchise.
As a big fan, I’ve heard they’re planning to release roughly one new game a year, including both the ones they’ve already announced and some surprises they haven’t talked about yet. It’s a pace that feels good – not too rushed, but enough to keep things exciting!
As the producer of Silent Hill, I’m committed to doing everything I can to bring you more of what you love. We hope to keep the excitement for the series growing, and we’ll share updates as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience!
Silent Hill Townfall is currently being developed by the UK-based studio Screen Burn, and it’s likely to be released sometime next year.
Polish game developer Bloober Team has announced they’re working on a remake of the first Silent Hill game, and it could potentially release around late 2027.
As a fan, looking at what’s been announced, it really seems like Okamoto could actually achieve his goal pretty soon! It’s exciting to think it might happen in the near future.
It’s possible that by 2028, the Taiwanese development team Neobards could release a sequel to Silent Hill F.
