In Skate 4, the “Get Pitted” Challenge asks you to master the Spread Eagle trick and use it to ride through all the tubes in the designated area. Don’t let the name fool you – Spread Eagle isn’t about style, it’s about gliding through the air to reach new spots. It’s a little clumsy, but essential for completing stunt challenges! Keep reading to learn how to perform the trick and finish “Get Pitted.”
How to Spread Eagle & Enter Any Tube in the Get Pitted Challenge | Skate 4

To do a Spread Eagle, press R1 + X on PlayStation or RB + A on Xbox. Make sure you’re not on your skateboard – if you are, press Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) to jump off. You can do this whether you’re on the ground or in the air!
When you’re holding the Spread Eagle, you can influence where your character falls. Use the left stick to move around – it’s like gliding! It won’t be pretty, and you’ll definitely land with a splat, but it lets you control your descent.
For the “Get Pitted” Challenge, you must use the Spread Eagle maneuver to go into any of the yellow-highlighted tubes. These tubes also have a circle icon above them to help you identify them.
Okay, so getting into those tubes can be tricky, but here’s what I figured out. You really need to use the Spread Eagle move when you’re landing – it lets you get super close. Basically, aim to land right in front of the tube opening. When you hit the ground, your character bounces a little, which gives you just enough control to nudge them inside. It’s kinda like what you see in that video clip – a controlled bounce right in!
That’s everything you need to know about the Spread Eagle trick in Skate 4 and how to complete the tubes in the “Get Pitted” Challenge! It’s actually quite similar to performing a Christ Air for the “Redemption Air” Challenge, though the Spread Eagle is a bit less elegant.
