Sky News confirms Kay Burley’s replacements for Breakfast show following her exit this year

Sky News has announced who will be taking over for Kay Burley on their Breakfast program after her departure earlier in the year.

The ongoing speculation comes to a close as Sophy Ridge and Wilfred Frost, both presenters from Lead Politics, are set to lead the new Sky News breakfast program, which is scheduled to premiere this fall.

Later this year, we’ll unveil the title and production setup for our upcoming morning program; specific airing particulars are still under wraps.

Previously hosting Sophy Ridge on Sunday, Ridge now serves as a prominent figure in news broadcasting, particularly recognized for her engaging interview style that often puts interviewees at ease.

In the early part of this year, Ridge received the honor of being titled RTS Presenter of the Year during the RTS Television Journalism Awards held in 2025.

Wilfred Frost, who is the son of the renowned broadcast journalist Sir David Frost, has had experience working with American television networks such as CNBC and NBC. Earlier this year, he also produced the highly praised documentary series titled “David Frost vs.”

Of course, there have been some delightful high points as well, haven’t there? For instance, the excitement when London was chosen to host the 2012 Olympics; multiple grand royal weddings; jubilees, and let’s not forget the suspense-filled days waiting for royal babies at the Lindo Wing.

After nearly two million minutes on live television news, making me the world’s longest-running presenter, it’s now time for me to pursue some of my other interests, such as traveling.

Following my participation in reporting on twelve distinct general elections, which included Sir Keir Starmer’s triumph last year, I have decided to retire from Sky News. Politicians across all parties can celebrate this news, as they no longer need to face my inquisitive gaze!
