Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Will Feature Mega Man as One of its Crossover DLC Releases

With the September 25th release of *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and the new Switch 2 fast approaching, it appears another iconic video game character will be joining the racing fun. A Reddit user, Wrong-Minute-1319, received an early physical copy of the game and discovered that Mega Man will be available as a downloadable character.

A Reddit user shared an image revealing more racers coming to *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*. In addition to previously announced characters from *Minecraft*, *SpongeBob SquarePants*, *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem*, *Avatar: Legends*, and *Pac-Man*, *Mega Man* will also be included. This likely means players will be able to race as Mega Man himself, but other characters from the *Mega Man* series, such as Tempo, Beat, Dr. Wily, or Protoman, might also be playable.

The Sonic Stadium, a news site dedicated to the Sonic franchise, reports that Nights, a classic Sega character, will make a guest appearance as a racer in the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. They confirmed this by sharing the same promotional flyer that a Reddit user posted, suggesting the information is accurate.

Even though *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* isn’t out for another week, players can try a demo now! It’s available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch, and lets you play as 4 different characters on 8 courses – a mix of 3 standard tracks and 5 unique CrossWorlds levels. This demo focuses on the single-player experience, so there’s no local or online multiplayer. The good news is any progress you make in the demo will transfer over to the full game when it launches.

When *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* officially launches, players can expect 24 tracks and 15 CrossWorlds to explore, plus a large selection of characters and 45 different vehicles. During races, players can use 23 different items to gain an advantage and help them win. They’ll also be able to customize their vehicles with 70 unique gadgets available from the start.

Although *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* includes characters from other franchises, the added characters won’t have any spoken lines. According to Takashi Iizuka, the game’s producer, voice acting is limited to the original 24 *Sonic* characters due to licensing restrictions with the other properties.

Like characters from other game series, even Sega-owned characters who aren’t from the *Sonic* universe will also be silent in the game. This includes characters like Ichiban Kasuga, the main character from *Yakuza: Like a Dragon*.
