PlayStation Plus members on both PS5 and PS4 are receiving a free bonus, valued at up to $30. Currently, this offer seems to be available only to those with the Extra or Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus, excluding those on the Essential tier. To claim the bonus, players simply need to download and play Resident Evil Village for at least 30 minutes. Since the game is already included with the Extra and Premium tiers, it was chosen as the game for this promotion.
Sony recently added several Resident Evil movies to its Sony Pictures Core app, and to celebrate, they’re offering a promotion for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Players who spend at least 30 minutes playing Resident Evil Village will receive a free movie from the Sony Pictures Core library. This is because newer titles like Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil 4 Remake aren’t currently available through PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium. The Sony Pictures Core library has around 100 movies, many of which are Sony films, and typically cost up to $30 to purchase.

This offer ends on April 30th, and if you get a free movie credit, you’ll need to use it by May 8th. After that, you’re free to choose any movie you like – there are no limitations on price or title. While the movie selection isn’t as extensive as services like Netflix or Prime Video, it does include a number of popular Sony films and more.
To get this offer, PlayStation Plus members on PS4, PS5, and PS5 Pro need to do more than just play 30 minutes of the Capcom game. They also have to download the Sony Pictures Core app and connect it to their PlayStation Network (PSN) account. If they don’t, the offer won’t work.
This latest addition expands the PlayStation Plus lineup for April 2026, already featuring three free games and now including a previously unavailable PS5 title.
