Fall Guys was big for five minutes but it’s really fallen off since Epic bought the developer.
Efforts to make it work within Fortnite haven’t been successful, and the similar game Stumble Guys has become much more popular.
And now Totopia, a free-to-play rival from China, has been announced, ahead of a release in 2027.
According to the announcement, this new game combines the appealing simplicity of relaxing life simulation games with the excitement of multiplayer party games.
The game features the exciting, chaotic obstacle courses of Fall Guys, and now you can also personalize your own home with items you earn. It’s still unclear exactly how these two parts connect, but it seems like a lot of fun.
Here are the key aspects, outlined in the release’s blurb:
- Grab Your Crew! Be Whoever, Do Whatever!
- Your do-it-all party hub has arrived! Whether you’re a party-game champ, a Bitrot-smashing hero, a master barista, or just a chill fisher, the stage is yours. Link up with the squad for chaotic game nights or rule the streets of Pulse Avenue—there are zero limits to your digital life!
- Dress Up! Flex Your Style!
- Main character energy only! From drip that hits different to wild, custom fits, express your unique aesthetic and show the whole world your signature look.
- Pick Your Party! Over 100 Maps to Play!
- Rise to stardom and become the GOAT! Drop into chaotic brawls, epic races, or team up with the squad to catch that W. From solo trials to cooperative madness, every map is a new chance to hit peak performance.
- Tiny Kit, Big Trick!
- Power up with a twist! Use the Soulsync mechanic to bond with your companions, unlocking cracked abilities and secret tricks to outplay the challenge levels and competitions in style.
- Cozy Up with Atomons!
- Live your best life on Pulse Avenue! Strike up a convo with quirky Atomons, go fishing, farm your heart out, or build a dream base that’s 100% you. It’s all about the chill vibes!
This feels geared towards a younger crowd, and it seems much more lively and user-friendly than games like Roblox. However, it probably doesn’t offer as much customization, so it might not become quite as popular.
The game’s visuals aren’t particularly impressive, but the gameplay seems promising. We’re especially excited about the 2D platforming sections, which offer a nice change from the 3D arenas of Fall Guys.
Would you consider giving this a shot sometime? Please keep the conversation respectful in the comments.
