Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been a successful game for both Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment, and it’s impressive that players are still enjoying it over a year after its 2024 launch – especially considering how quickly gamers often move on to new releases.
The game is facing criticism over its new voice pack DLC. Advertised for $5 and promising 450 new, re-recorded lines, it initially excited players. However, fans are now upset because that line count is shared across all language options in the game, leading many to feel the advertising was misleading.
Saber and Focus have admitted they made a mistake with this release and are offering refunds to customers who bought the pack. They’re also making the content available for free to those who were impacted or anyone curious to try it out.
We’ve listened to your feedback about the Chapter Voice Pack DLC and understand it didn’t meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for this. Providing high-quality content, whether it’s free or paid, is very important to us. Therefore, we’re offering a full refund to everyone who purchased the DLC, and we’re making it available for free going forward. We’re working with platform owners to process the refunds and will share more details soon. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our game.
This is a positive move towards regaining player trust after recent issues, and the new Techmarine class should help with that. With more content planned for Space Marine 2, hopefully the developers will continue on this path and apply these improvements to Space Marine 3 as well.
