Beyond the Spider-Verse.” After experiencing several creative challenges, such as rumors of script revisions, this much-awaited animated sequel is expected to hit theaters on June 25, 2027.
What is the new update for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse?
Via their individual Instagram posts, both Moore and Jerome announced that they have begun voice recording sessions for the upcoming film, titled “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.” Moore is set to resume his memorable portrayal of Miles Morales, while Jerome will also return as the voice actor for Earth-42’s Miles G. Morales/Prowler. The latest installment picks up from the end of 2023’s “Across the Spider-Verse,” in which it was disclosed that Moore’s Spider-Man is transported to another alternate reality after fleeing the Spider-Society.
In this animated film, Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson take the helm, with a screenplay penned by Dave Callaham, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller. The talented voice actors include Sharlto Copley as Miles Morales, Zoey Deutch as Gwen Stacy, Josh Gad as Peter B. Parker, Nicolas Cage as Spider-Noir, John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales, and others.
Currently, it appears that Sony Pictures Animation has begun creating a Spider-Punk spin-off, and actor Daniel Kaluuya is said to be involved in co-writing the script alongside Ajon Singh. Moreover, following the immense popularity of Spider-Man Noir from 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there are plans for a live-action television series adaptation on MGM+, with Nicholas Cage set to return as the titular character.
