Sony Pictures Entertainment has released an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of “Spider-Man: A Fresh Start,” featuring Tom Holland participating in a thrilling tank chase sequence, mingling with fans, and collaborating with director Destin Daniel Cretton on the initial day of filming. It is worth mentioning that “A Fresh Start” marks Holland’s fourth Spider-Man movie, following “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (2017), “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (2019), and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021).
Tom Holland rides a tank in Spider-Man: Brand New Day BTS set video
On August 10, last Sunday, Sony Pictures posted a video showcasing Tom Holland’s first day on set for the movie “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” The one-minute clip captures Holland filming an action scene involving a car chase with tanks, interacting with director Cretton and fans who were present, as well as sharing his thoughts about returning for his fourth adventure as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
The scene opens as Holland steps onto the set and embraces Cretton. Afterward, he’s queried about his wellbeing, to which the 29-year-old responds casually, “I’m doing well, dude.
In the video, Holland shared that today marked his “fourth debut in the Spider-Man role.” He went on to say that putting on the suit felt distinctively unique this time around. To top it off, for the first time ever, we had fans present on set from day one. Needless to say, I’m thrilled to be able to share this experience with them. I’ll do my utmost to deliver a fantastic performance.
In a recent video, the actor from Chaos Walking mentioned encountering some familiar faces on set, which seemed to be recurring crew members. Regarding the film, he expressed his hope to “nail it” without undue stress.
After apparently filming a scene with the tank, Holland exclaimed, “That felt sick!”
In a new development, Creton is working on the film “Brand New Day,” penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Alongside Holland, the ensemble features Zendaya portraying Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal stepping into the role of Frank Castle / Punisher, Mark Ruffalo donning the mantle of Bruce Banner / Hulk, and Sadie Sink.
Additionally, Holland posted the previously mentioned video on his Instagram account. The new Spider-Man film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” is set to premiere in U.S. cinemas on July 31, 2026.
