A release date window for the Spider-Noir TV show has been announced.
Nicolas Cage will star in the upcoming superhero series, Spider-Noir. Created by Steve Lightfoot and Oren Uziel, the show expands on the alternate Spider-Man universes first introduced in the 2018 animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
When is the release date window for Spider-Noir?
Esquire Magazine reports that Spider-Noir will be released on Prime Video this spring.
While an official release date hasn’t been confirmed, Amazon MGM Studios announced the series will premiere first on the MGM+ channel in the US. It will then be available worldwide on Prime Video the following day. Viewers will have the option to watch in either black and white or color.
The upcoming series, Spider-Noir, is a live-action adaptation of the Marvel comic. It follows a hardened, down-on-his-luck private investigator named Cage in 1930s New York City, who is reluctantly drawn back into his former life as the city’s only superhero.
Nicolas Cage previously voiced Spider-Noir in Into the Spider-Verse, but that was a different version of Peter Parker. This time, in the Spider-Noir series, he’ll be voicing Ben Reilly as Spider-Noir, and the show will reveal why the character has changed.
Okay, so Nicolas Cage isn’t the only great actor in this thing! The cast is seriously stacked – you’ve got Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston all bringing their A-game. And the cameos! Wow. We’re talking Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and even Kai Caster popping up. It’s a real treat for movie fans like me!
The first two episodes of Spider-Noir are directed by Harry Bradbeer, known for his work on shows like Fleabag and Killing Eve. Sony Pictures Television is producing the series, with Harry Bradbeer, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Uziel, Lightfoot, Aditya Sood, Dan Shear, and Amy Pascal all serving as executive producers.
