The new Spider-Man trailer is breaking records! It’s become the most-viewed trailer ever in just 24 hours, racking up 718.6 million views since its release on Wednesday, according to WaveMetrix.
As a huge movie fan, I was blown away to hear the new trailer smashed records! It racked up over 365 million views in just eight hours – that’s even more than the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer got in two years (though that number included people who watched it during the Super Bowl). To put it in perspective, the first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home hit 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours and went on to become a massive hit, earning almost $1.9 billion worldwide. Even the Avengers: Doomsday trailers did well, getting over a billion views combined, but those numbers were collected over a longer period, not just in the first day.
The trailer looks fantastic, and a major shift is the way Jon Bernthal’s Punisher (Frank Castle) interacts with other characters – it’s a much different connection than the one he had with Tony Stark. Tom Holland shared some insights about this:
I can’t wait for audiences to see Jon Bernthal as the Punisher in this film. He brings a very different energy, coming from more mature, R-rated projects, and we’ve brought that intensity into our universe. He’s fantastic! The dynamic between Spider-Man and the Punisher was really fun to explore, and it changed a lot during filming thanks to a lot of improvisation between Jon and me. It started with them disliking each other, but it evolved into this big brother-little brother relationship, and honestly, it’s become one of my favorite Spider-Man pairings.
The new movie takes place about four years after the end of “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Tom Holland, who will be 30 in June, will reprise his role.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens in cinemas on 31st July 2026.
