Yesterday saw the release of GSC Game World’s significant 1.5 update for Stalker 2, marking a substantial enhancement. This latest version introduces mutant loot, adds two brand-new weapons to the arsenal, and significantly boosts the A-Life aspects.
Beyond this, the GSC team rolled out the initial version of the Stalker 2 Modding Toolset, popularly known as Zone Kit, a hefty 700GB file. This toolset offers players an extensive collection of resources to create substantial modifications for the game. As for what players are using it for? They’re doing what they often do – tinkering and creating!
Stalker 2 mods get silly
Some gamers are eagerly anticipating that mod developers might eventually produce something akin to the original game’s Anomaly mod for the sequel. Yet, it is important to note that this process could require a significant length of time to accomplish.
Rather than the Mod Kit’s release leading to a variety of useful mods, it has predominantly sparked the creation of humorous, meme-inspired mods, and they’re fantastic! Given that many modders are probably just beginning to download the game’s extensive 700GB mod kit and figuring out how to use it, the amusing mods we’ve received thus far have been quite enjoyable.
Absolutely, it’s exciting to see that Stalker 2 has integrated some familiar elements! For instance, there’s a Thomas the Tank Engine mod, where the Aerostat over Zalissya has been swapped out for our beloved steam engine. And if you’re a fan of GTA: San Andreas’ CJ, you’ll be thrilled to know that he’s now roaming the Zone, replacing the Bloodsucker mutants!

1. Crocodilo Bombardino – a modification where the front section of helicopters is swapped out for an imposing crocodile head.
2. SwampBOSS – this mod introduces Shrek into the game’s Swamp area.
In terms of my preferred Stalker 2 modifications, none have captivated me quite like the Sidorovich Handgun mod. This modification swaps out the in-game handguns for a model resembling the iconic character of Sidorovich, the trader. It’s absurd, it’s Stalker, and yet, it’s stunningly beautiful.
Absolutely, and I’m thrilled to be part of this journey! With the introduction of the Mod Kit, the sky’s the limit when it comes to what players can create in Stalker 2. The possibilities are endless, even though any mods for the in-game browser must first be approved by GSC Game World through the Mod.IO platform before they go live. It’s an exciting time to be a fan!
