Now that The Mandalorian and Grogu is playing in theaters, attention turns to Season 2—the next live-action Star Wars story we’ll see. Since the new season won’t be on Disney+ until 2027, actor Eman Esfandi has shared some exciting news about Ezra Bridger’s significant part in it, giving fans something to look forward to.
Ezra Bridger Won’t Remain Hidden for Half of Ahsoka Season 2
At a recent appearance at SpaceCon San Antonio, actor Esfandi confirmed he will be featured throughout the entire upcoming season, according to notes taken by an attendee and shared on X (formerly Twitter) via Bespin Bulletin.
In the first season of Ahsoka, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger was only in four of the eight episodes. Viewers first saw him as a pre-recorded hologram in the very first episode, but he didn’t physically appear until episode six. He then made appearances in episodes seven and eight.
Esfandi mentioned collaborating with many new cast members, suggesting Ezra will interact with characters we haven’t seen him with before. The second season of Ahsoka promises more action-packed fight sequences alongside heartfelt and emotional scenes, which aligns with a previous hint from Rosario Dawson at a Disney presentation.
I heard from Esfandi that Ezra really matured a lot during Season 2, which makes sense! He wasn’t isolated with just the Noti tribe anymore; being around different people definitely pushed him to grow up.
Eman Esfandi Didn’t Know Ahsoka Had Been Delayed Until the Fans Did
The first season of Ahsoka debuted on Disney+ in August 2023, about ten months after filming finished. However, the second season concluded production in October 2025, meaning fans will have to wait nearly four years for its release.
Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Ahsoka Season 2 will arrive in 2027 during their presentation for advertisers. Actor Manny Jacinto (who plays Shin Hati) revealed he found out about the delay at the same time everyone else did, suggesting the studios intentionally kept the new release date under wraps to prevent leaks.
The first season of Ahsoka ended on a major cliffhanger for Star Wars fans. In the finale, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger jumped to hyperspace together, heading back to the galaxy formerly controlled by the Empire.
Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) are stranded in another galaxy. The new season follows their quest connected to the ancient Mortis gods, where they’ll face Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi now portrayed by Rory McCann.
You can watch the first season of Ahsoka on Disney+. The second season is expected to arrive in early 2027.
